A new single storey brick home in Mosman approved through Complying Development, under the NSW Housing Code.
This new home has been designed for a down-sizing couple, whose brief was a single storey low maintenance home, which they would never move out of. The rear or the house faces south, so the design is based around two central courtyards bringing into the home a tranquil connection to the external soft landscaping as well as winter northern sunshine. The house is light filled and seamlessly connects the inside with the outside.
Complying Development approval took one month and the entire project took just over one year from beginning to end. Contemporary Architecture was involved in all stages of the design, approval, construction documentation, interior design and contract administration.
