HUNTERS HILL HOUSE 1

Our Hunters Hill project is alterations and additions to an existing Federation home. The project compliance was a Complying Development Certificate under the NSW Housing Code.

The brief for this project was to create a first floor addition which, from the street, was in keeping with the Federation facade. Upstairs is the “kids zone”, and the parents' retreat is downstairs in the original bedrooms. The back of the house was to be removed and a new living, dining, kitchen and outdoor covered area has been added addressing the backyard. Large north facing steel windows were provided to the dining area which frames the view to the existing pool and brings winter sun deep into the space.

The back of the house is a modern contrast to the front with Scyon Axon cladding and steel windows and doors.

Contemporary Architecture was involved throughout the whole project, from design through to the end of construction.
